Dr. Aurélie Portefaix is a pediatrician at the Women-Mother-Child Hospital of the Hospices Civils de Lyon. She obtained her doctoral thesis in November 2024, titled : "Perception of risks related to the environment, issues in evaluating the effects of endocrine disruptors, and the medico-ecological impact of care on children," co-supervised by Professor J. Bacchetta (pediatrician) and Professor B. Kassaï-Koupaï (pharmacologist, public health physician). Her research focuses on the "Health-Environment", addressing environmental health and the impact of health on the environment.
She is particularly interested in evaluating the link between exposures and the development of diseases in children, with a focus on accurately characterizing exposures. Informing the public, especially young people, about environmental exposure risks, as well as sharing the results of environmental health research, is central to her concerns.
