With dual expertise in Endocrinology and Nuclear Medicine, Francoise Borson-Chazot was head of the Nuclear Medicine Therapy Unit before being appointed Professor of Endocrinology at the Lyon Est, Faculty of Medicine in 2004 and Head of Department at the Pole Est Endocrinology Federation in 2013. Her clinical activity quickly focused on endocrine oncology, and more specifically on neuroendocrine tumors and thyroid oncology, and was extended to include clinical and more fundamental research within INSERM, rare tumor networks and in particular the national INCa network TUTHYREF, of which she is co-coordinator. In 1998, she set up with Dr Sassolas, a Rhône-Alpes thyroid cancer registry, integrated into the FRANCIM network and accredited by the national registry commission. She was president of the Groupe des Tumeurs Endocrines (GTE) and then of the Société Française d'Endocrinologie. She has published over 270 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
