- Alexandra DIMA: "TEOS: a methodological framework for constructing operational definitions of medication adherence"
Adherence to medication is a priority for health systems and a rapidly developing research area. It is also a complex process to study, and the quality and transparency of methodological choices regarding adherence measures is one aspect in need of improvement. With a group of experts from the International Society of Medication Adherence (ESPACOMP), they developed a 4-component framework to guide these choices, focusing on the Timelines of medication acquisition and intake, key Events on these timelines, study Objectives, and properties of available data Sources. Alexandra will present the framework and the practical tools that help implement it in research, and situate TEOS within the larger context of adherence research and practice.
